  Rick McKee was the staff cartoonist of The Augusta Chronicle from 1998 to 2019. McKee is one of the most reprinted cartoonists in America with his cartoons syndicated to more than 800 newspapers across the country and around the world by CagleCartoons.com.

  In 2025, McKee won the Silver Reuben Award for editorial cartoons from the National Cartoonists Society.

  In 2013, McKee won first place in the international Ranan Lurie/U.N. cartoon competition.

  In addition to appearing in most major newspapers, McKee's award-winning work has been featured on CNN/Headline News, The New York Times, the Washington Post and in Newsweek. McKee is a regular contributor to the Swiss satirical magazine, Nebelspalter, the oldest continually-published satirical publication in the world.

  McKee also draws the nationally syndicated comic strip, Pluggers and was a co-creator of the nationally syndicated comic strip, Mt. Pleasant.

  A collection of his cartoons, "Painting With a Broad Brush" was published in December, 2015.

McKee also wrote and Illustrated the children's book, "The Very Small Giant,"

a timeless tale about fitting in, an

unlikely friendship and how the biggest

of hearts sometimes comes in the 

smallest of packages.
